Arrived at Sebago Lake

For those of you wondering....Karla did return to RVMakes3 from the "girls" weekend in Wilmington, VT.  Karla had a good time "catching up" with old friends.  We will see them again in Topsail NC in October.

Upon Karla's return we continued our route towards Maine boondocking at Orchard Ridge Farm in Gorham, ME.  Yesterday we arrived at the residence of Cathy and Pat on Sebago Lake.  Gracious hosts with an awesome place.  Sebago Lake is the deepest and second-largest lake in the state of Maine. The lake is 316 feet deep at its deepest point, with a mean depth of 101 feet, covers about 45 square miles in surface area, has a length of 14 miles and has a shoreline length of roughly 105 miles.  Last night we dined on Maine Lobster and watched the sunset from their backyard.

We spent today boating, hiking, swimming, and resting followed by a tasty Salmon dinner over looking the water.  Tomorrow we depart for Acadia National Park.

I hope this blog post finds you well.  Karla and I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you soon.  And as always, (we are) coming to a driveway near you.  Take care!

"Bach-ing" in Brattleboro, VT

While Karla is spending the weekend with college friends celebrating their 60th birthdays in Wilmington, VT, I am nearby in Brattleboro, VT staging and prepping RVMakes3 for our travels into Maine this week.  We spent the last couple nights boondocking at Bowman's "U pick" farm near Albany, NY followed by a Maple Syrup farm (Robb Family Farm) last night.  The Robb Family Farm (pics below), located in Brattleboro, VT,  is several square miles with a massive network of tubing extracting sap from thousands of maple trees.  We toured the processing facility, hiked the grounds and enjoyed a camp fire.  It was a very relaxing stay.

On Sunday we continue towards Acadia National Park and plan to arrive there on Wednesday.  Between now and then, we plan to visit another Harvest Host and friends in Maine.....more info to come.

Karla and I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you soon.  I hope this post finds you well.  And as always, (we are) coming to a driveway near you.  Take care!

Fun Time in Fairport

Fairport is a small historic western NY town situated on the Erie Canal.  Karla and I had a great time with our most gracious hosts Bill and Karen.  Thank you both!  We spent the last 3 days hiking and biking the Erie Canal "rails to trails" pathway.  And yesterday, Bill and I played golf at Midvale Country Club while Karen and Karla had lunch on the club deck.  Today we traveled east to the Albany NY area where we are boondocking at Bowman's "U Pick" Farm.  We plan to gather fruits and vegetables tomorrow for the rest of our trip.

Karla is doing well and having fun.  I am so thankful for that.  We plan to make our way to Brattleboro, VT tomorrow where we will boondock at another "U pick" farm.  I hope this post finds you well. And as always, (we are) coming to a driveway near you.  Take care!

New England Bound!

Good Evening All.  Karla and I have embarked on our next adventure.  We are on our way to Acadia National Park in RVMakes3.  Leaving this past Friday, Karla and I settled in for the night at Lincoln Way Winery (Harvest Host) in Wooster, Ohio.  It was a fun night of good food, tasty wine and live music.  Yesterday we continued our journey and eventually boondocked for a restful night at The Robbins Nest (Harvest Host), a family farm producing organic meats and vegetables.  Today we arrived in Fairport, New York where we are bunking at the home (driveway) of Bill and Karen......longtime college friends of Karla.  We plan to spend 3 days here hiking, biking, golfing, and enjoying great food and company.  Wednesday we will continue our way north and east.

Additional entries to come.  We hope to see you soon.  And as always, (we are) coming to a driveway near you.  Take care!
