Good Evening All. It has been about 3 months since my last blog post. I hope you are doing well. Karla and I spent the holidays in beautiful Sedona, AZ hiking, golfing, and enjoying time with friends and neighbors. Late January, we traveled back to Ohio for our quarterly medical visits. Good News! There appears to be no new developments. So, we flew back to Sedona and prepared for our next RVMakes3 excursion.
Friday we made final preparations on RVMakes3 and Saturday we "shoved off". Unbeknownst to us, Ellie, our dear friend and neighbor, caught Karla and me working diligently fastening our bikes to RVMakes3 (pic below. LOL). You can never be too thorough.
Saturday afternoon we arrived at The Revere Golf Club in Henderson, NV for the night (Harvest Host). We were perched at the the end of the parking lot overlooking the Las Vegas strip. It was a nice and quiet stop for the night.
Sunday we arrived at Death Valley National Park where we boon-docked for 2 days. Death Valley National Park is a vast, grand, and eclectic landscape. It is approximately 3.2 million acres of federally designated wilderness and the hottest place on earth with a recorded temperature of 134 degrees F. It is also the driest US national park. It features 11,000 foot peaks (Panamint mountains) and the Badwater basin at 282 feet below sea level (the lowest point in North America). There are 11 plant species and 23 animal species that are found only within the boundaries of Death Valley National Park.
Karla and I spent our time hiking and exploring the environment. We experienced the views from Zabriskie point, hiked the vast salt flats of the Badwater Basin, and toured the old Harmony Borax Works, where borax was mined in the late 1800s.
