It was a cold Monday night in Vega, TX and the cold weather was going to continue on our current route. Before leaving town, we passed this mural and captured a pic. I thought it was pretty cool.
Heavy snow was forecasted in Albuquerque and points east (our route) for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. The NWS was advising not to travel into that area. So, we re-routed again....traveling from Santa Rosa, NM south to Las Cruces, NM just in time to avoid the storm. We settled Wednesday night at The New Mexico State University golf course (Harvest Host)....a familiar "spot" as we have boondocked there a couple times....go Aggies! The environment, restaurant, accommodations, security, and convenience keep us coming back.
Tonight finds us at The Cattle Rest Saloon (Harvest Host) in Willcox, AZ where we plan to watch the Bengals game with Willcox locals. The Cattle Rest Saloon is just that.....a rural Arizona western saloon featuring Line Dancing on Thursday nights. From this location, the views of the Winchester Mountains are vast and panoramic. All in all a good spot to spend an evening.
Tomorrow we travel to Tucson where we plan to rest for a couple days prior to concluding our journey in Sedona, AZ. Please check back for our final post in a few days. We look forward to seeing each and everyone of you soon. And (as always), we are coming to a driveway near you.
